                                      Dr. Cherie J. Drew
Twice Widowed by the Age of Forty-Four
                                           But Thriving

Having had her own personal brush with death while mourning the
loss of her husband, Cherie made the commitment to live. Her
search for hope and permanent relief from the pain and confusion
led her to the realization that not only would she live, but she
thrive. An thrive she has! Cherie was remarried December 24, 2007
to Rev. Daryl L. Drew. She is enjoying serving with her husband as
he pastors New Vine Baptist Church, Lynchburg, VA.

The Widow’s Might is the chronicle of her spiritual endurance
during her recovery from the loss of her husbands. This
survivors’
                                         guide
was born out of her inability to find answers anywhere else
but in the Bible and the desire to make available to others a
practical approach to overcoming and understanding the grief
of those who suffer a loss.

Cherie J. Drew is a wife, mother and grandmother. She continues
to be actively involved in her local church and serves as a
frequent speaker for the National Credit Union Administrations
Small Credit Union Program, the Credit Union National Association's Certified Financial Planning
School and a host of Church and Civic Organizations.

Dr. Drew obtained a Doctorate of Ministry from the College of Church Administration, Minnesota Graduate
School of Theology in St. Paul Minnesota and Bachelor degrees in both Finance and Management from St.
Edwards University, Austin, Texas. She holds the lifetime designation of SWCMS (Southwest Cuna
Management School) for her accomplishment as a graduate of the challenging Strategic Management
School. Dr. Drew brings thirty years of expertise to the Administration and Management of Churches and
Ministries.

She has been the executive co-chairperson for the Texas Credit Union League’s (TCUL) Financial Literacy
Council, one of the original members of the TCUL Small Credit Union Task Force, and a member of their
Financial Literacy Expert Legislative team. She wrote the charter request for Covenant Savings Federal
Credit Union, where she served nine years as the President, and has helped to open ten other new credit
unions. Her work has won her the prestigious Credit Union National Association’s Founders Club award.

Recognizing the need for specialized ministries to those who have lost a spouse, Dr. Drew has opened her
heart to the hurting. She hopes to add widow's sessions to the schedules of the nation's many Ladies
Retreats.
