My Vision...
I still dream that every church
has access to a Christian credit
union. The establishment of the
Covenant Savings Federal
credit union proved that the
existence of such an
organization made a difference
in the church and for the
congregation in which it was
established.
The hardship associated with
the current economic crisis can
be eased with accurate and up
to date information. Church
credit unions have the position
and the creditability to provide
this information. Church credit
unions also have a history of
changing the financial status of
the majority of the church
membership with this same
information while bringing
stewardship to light. Single
parent families learn how to
“find money they never knew
they had”. Others adhere to the
“art of car negotiation” while a
vast majority learn the value of
the “10 commandments of
mutual fund investing.” There is
financial literacy with focuses on
family finances, credit repair,
and even debt reduction.
Secrets to early home payoffs
and real-estate investing also
play a large role in the
education a church credit union
can offer. Finally the base of a
strong society, the small
business, can gain its start or its
growth through the Strategic
planning and business
accounting classes offered by
your church credit union.
I wrote the charter for the
Covenant Savings Credit Union
and successfully served as its
president/CEO for 9 years. I
also aided in the establishment
of 10 other credit unions since
then. If the Lord has placed it in
your spirit to embark on this
needed endeavor, please
contact me.
